Today we said HELLO to two new TVs.

We have read the story of the rainbowfish, when Noisy brought us two big envelopes to open.

Mooky was 11 days in his little envelope and really glad to crawl out. He gave us his presents, 2 nice postcards from his home and two little very cute magnets.
And the other TV is Plato from the RR. Noisy is the last station before he will go home again. Perhaps he can tell us a lot of stories while he stays here with us.

HELAU and ALAAF!!!

We have seen a carnival parade, but we couldn't take pictures, we were so busy with looking for the others mascerades and catching the sweets and kissing the other Jecken and... ho, I'm happy!

When we came home, there was a little cow crawling out of her envelope. Fiete must take on a mascerade at once.

we made a polonese.

It was a funny day!

Uuuuuuh.... I was allowed to visit a school!

Each Tuesday Noisy is going to the primary-school for helping some pupils with their homework.

There was a Teddy waiting for me, he gave me a warm welcome.

I read a poster showing the right snack for pupils.

And I looked at the nice pictures and the calender.

The pupil had build two houses with electricity.

Noisy showed me on a map where I am now and where I want to go to tomorrow.
She said, it would be a loooong travel for a little rabbit like I am.
I am a liitle bit nervous about the trip....but I think this RR is a save way to see the world. Noisy said all the hosts will take care for me, when I stay with them.

Hi Gabriel,

I am in Canada :D! Today someone picked my travelling quarters and dropped me on something that seemed to be quite soft . Immediately I felt a lot of action as if many little hands were working to get me out :stare:.

http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/sammino3%20tv/DSCN5728.jpg

And when eventually I came out, I found a crowd of TVs welcoming me in Calgary :). They are Jujube and Cherry Lola from the US, Commodore Quack from the UK, Sweetsy who is from Germany like me :) and sammino who is a stay-at-home TV. I showed them the lovely cards that I brought with me B), and then, since they seem to be all experienced travellers, I wanted to know everything about their journeys, so we spent the night chatting ;).

Hi Gabriel,

Today a new guest arrived in Calgary :). Smaug brought back home an envelope and we immediately knew that it was a TV.

http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/sammino3%20tv/DSCN5730.jpg

And yes, a TV it was, Melek a nice hedgehog from Germany :)...and he brought with him a lovely card and some delicious sweets :D. Of course the chocolate helped a lot in keeping high our sugar levels as we spent the night chatting ;).

Hi Gabriel,

Not only today is a holiday, but the weather looked gorgeous this morning, so we went for a bit of outdoor exercise :).  We picked a trail in the trees not too far from Calgary.

http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/Petit%20Lapin%20tv/DSCN5735.jpg

The trees around us where still covered with the snow fallen last night  :D.

http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/Petit%20Lapin%20tv/DSCN5734.jpg

As we moved uphill the view even improved.

http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/Petit%20Lapin%20tv/DSCN5752.jpg
http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/Petit%20Lapin%20tv/DSCN5753.jpg

By the time we reached the highest point of our day the weather has taken a sudden turn...for the worse :stare:, and the snow started falling.

http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/Petit%20Lapin%20tv/DSCN5771.jpg
http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/Petit%20Lapin%20tv/DSCN5770.jpg

Soon the light snow turned into a heavy snowfall, so we took shelter under a tree. As we were cheering ourselves up with some tea and a chocolate bar ;), we asked sammino if it was normal for the weather to switch from incredibly clear and blue sky into a blizzard in a couple of hours. He just answered : “Welcome to Calgary”.

Hi Gabriel,

Happy Easter :D!

We were hoping to celebrate with some gigantic chocolate egg :p, but smaug was concerned about our diet , so we just got small TV sized egges ....still there was enough of them for everyone ;).

Hi Gabriel,

Today we are having a little taste of summer B), so we expected to go to the mountains and find the snow gone for good...well almost . We spent the first part of our day in this nice little valley from where we could see the runs at Nakiska ski resort...all still open :stare:.

http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/Petit%20Lapin%20tv/DSCN5812.jpg

Moving on we entered a forest where the snow didn’t really seem in the mood to disappear.

http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/Petit%20Lapin%20tv/DSCN5804.jpg
http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/Petit%20Lapin%20tv/DSCN5803.jpg

Eventually we reached the top of this trail, from where we had nice views in the direction we came from...

http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/Petit%20Lapin%20tv/DSCN5782.jpg

...and on the opposite side, to the East :).

http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/Petit%20Lapin%20tv/DSCN5784.jpg

South of us we could see Midnight Peak. sammino explained to us that, without snow, it would be a nice walkable ridge :)...but not now with all that snow, maybe in a few weeks....maybe .

Hi Gabriel,

Today sammino turned into an adult eagle :stare:, (wow, I wonder how many places I will have visited by the time I turned 18 :)), so we decided to throw a little birthday party for him ;). First we blindfolded him and took him to the “party room”.

http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/sammino3%20tv/DSCN5815.jpg

Here we showed him the cake we had prepared :),...

http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/sammino3%20tv/DSCN5816.jpg

..., the “themed” card that we got him, and we also, of course, sang Happy Birthday for him :).

http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/sammino3%20tv/DSCN5817.jpg

He even got a present from his friend Sigfrido in France who sent him a little lovely artwork :o.

http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/sammino3%20tv/DSCN5818.jpg

After singing and laughing it was time to get to the real business, the cake ...which turned out to be delicious :D.

Hi Gabriel,

Today once again the weather was reasonably warm, so we went for a short hike :). We actually have been in the same area a few weeks ago when it was covered with snow, but today the lower parts of the trail were almost bone dry :stare:.

http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/Petit%20Lapin%20tv/DSCN5820.jpg
http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/Petit%20Lapin%20tv/DSCN5821.jpg
http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/Petit%20Lapin%20tv/DSCN5822.jpg

Of course there were plenty of spots where the snow was still unchallenged .

http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/Petit%20Lapin%20tv/DSCN5843.jpg
http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/Petit%20Lapin%20tv/DSCN5844.jpg

Eventually we reached a nice viewpoint at the top of a ridge where we could see the mountains in the west :)...

http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/Petit%20Lapin%20tv/DSCN5854.jpg
http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/Petit%20Lapin%20tv/DSCN5855.jpg

...and even the prairies far in the east.

http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/Petit%20Lapin%20tv/DSCN5856.jpg

And, as usual, it soon started snowing, so we hastily made our way back home .

We had an unexpected bit of snow last night, and since there hasn't been much this winter, host mom hurried us out first thing in the morning, to get pictures before it melted!

This is the cement factory just outside of Chanute, KS. It's across the street from a music shop where host mom went to purchase a beginner baritone book for her daughter. This area sure is rural!

Today we visited Humboldt, KS and host mom was able to take us a lot closer to the cement plant there, to see what it looked like. It was huge and seemed to have lots of things going on!

There was a big snow storm, dropping lots of snow and ice on the area! School and work were cancelled today!

A warm brunch of pumpkin pancakes with white chocolate chips, served with fried eggs, sounded so very good on a cold winter's day!

Host mom finished her third jacket, finally! She was very pleased with how it turned out, and her daughters were delighted to receive them!

We got round two of winter storms, so host mom got to stay home for the day. The weather man predicted 8 to 12 inches of snow, but we only got about two, and then it was warm enough to melt some of it off. Host mom took us for a walk in the neighborhood, to see how pretty it looked before the snow went away!

Petit Lapin was very curious about host mom's new sewing project. The fabric sure is a bright, bold orange!
