Hi,
I was invited to visit a nice host in Hamburg, Germany. I am on my way already. Bye Panda_Lilo |
Mondfalke Posted Aug 19, 2010, 9:08 pm |
Hello!
I arrived in Hamburg two days ago and my new host Jenny took me with her for some shopping in the city. We stopped for some photos. On the first ones you can see the Inner Alster, the smaller part of the lake in the centre of Hamburg. The bigger part is behind the bridge you can see in the distance. The swans are very typical for the Alster and they were carefully cared for. The Alster is also a river through Hamburg and here you can see it as it left the lake. On the left side of the first photo you can also see the impressing town hall of Hamburg. In the back you can see the St. Petri church, one of the main churches of Hamburg. Here is the "Europapassage". It is a new shopping centre and we went inside to do some birthday shopping. We didn't find any more time to take photos but Jenny promised me that she will show more of Hamburg to me soon! Bye, Panda_Lilo |

Hello!
I met another TV here in Hamburg. He is called iluaP ruhtrA and today we went to a zoo called "Wildpark Schwarze Berge". They have many local animals there. First we met the otters, you need to have a clode look at the fence to see him on the picture. The capricorn is in comparison very clearly visible. And here we have some Galloways. And here you can see some guinea-pigs, they were really cute! These budgies are not common here but they were really funny to look at. These wild pigs did have a really bad smell, we just stopped very short to have a look at them. And it looked a bit like it wanted to eat me for dinner! They had a tower in the zoo and we climbed it to have a look around. We had some rain bevor and so we were able to see a beautiful rainbow. In the distance you can see Hamburg and the river Elbe. Of course we had also a look in the other directions! After the tower we went to visit these ferrets. Next to the ferrets were the racoons. They were very interesting to iluaP as he is a racoon himself. I think to meet a Panda we would have to go to another zoo. We had a little walk through the forest were we could see some deer. Finally we arrived at the wolve's. Here you can see us two in front of the entrance building and some of the bushels, statues and waters on the way to the parking lot. Then we walked across the parking lot. We had some time left until the bus arrived and walked over the field. You could pick flowers there for yourself und put the money in a box. We went home by bus and had a quiet evening. Bye, iluaP |

Hello!
Today we had another walk through Hamburg! We went by bus to a place called "Heiligengeistfeld". It was empty now but Jenny told me that often there are fun-fairs. In the picture you can also see the bunker and the TV-tower. Here you can see the stadium of the FC St. Pauli, al local football club. This is the underground station at which we arrived. Then we walked to the stadium. Can you see me in this picture? Ah, here you have a look at the beginning of the famous Reeperbahn. This is the St. Michaelis-church, the main church of Hamburg and usually called "Michel". And here we are at the harbour! This is the ship of the firefighters. It is used as a restaurant. On the left corner you can see the new Hafenphilharmonie. And here it is in the centre. They are building it. Then we had a walk along the harbour. This is the Cap San Diego, one of the museum ships in the harbour. This is the second museum ship, the Rickmer Rickmers. This is the Swedish seamans church. They have one from all the Nordic countries. This is the last view over the harbour from the stairs at the underground station. We took the underground to go home then and I am really looking forward to seeing more of Hamburg! Bye, Lilo |

Hello!
Today we made some shopping trip. Jenny needed some presents and some daily things and so we went to the city centre. We arrived at the main station. We walked along the Mönkebergstrasse, you can see it on the second picture. The first picture shows the town hall again! On the left side you can see the St. Petri church. And again we ended at the harbour, this is the entrance building to the old tunnel under the Elbe. They built some new one with more than just one line in every direction. And here are some buildings along the harbour. Must be great to live there! We saw some ships at the harbour, one with a great German flag. Then we had all we needed and went home to pack all the bought things inside nice packages! Bye, Lilo |

Hello!
I am very excited today. Jenny told me that we are going to visit a Postcrossing-Meeting. Postcrossing is a project about sending and receiving postcards, if you want to learn more, have a look here: www.postcrossing.com We met with the group at the main station and had a walk through the city. As we did this before, we didn't take any photos. Then we climbed the St. Michaelis-church, we already visited it, too but didn't went on the tower. We had a very great look over the city as we also had sunny weather! This view shows the Millerntor-stadium, the Heiligengeistfeld, the Reeperbahn but it isn't very good to see as it is all very small of course. Here you can see the TV-tower. And here is the river "Elbe" with the harbour. On this picture are many of the churches of Hamburg to be seen. On the richt edge of the picture you can see the town hall and the lake in the distance is the "Alter", located right in the centre of Hamburg. The small houses in the middle belong to the "Krameramtsstuben", some very small, cute old houses. Of course we walked along the harbour and have a look at the ships and everything. Mister Snow was with us to the meeting, too. We both get some stickers of the meeting on our bellies. All the people around us were busy writing and signing cards and we had a look at some of them. After the meeting all the cards were placed on a table, so many of them. After all this exciting day we went home very tired. I hope this was not my last Postcrossing-Meeting! Bye, Lilo |

Hello!
It is almost dark right now but Jenny says that it is just the right time to visit the DOM, the funfair in Hamburg. We took the underground and then walked the last few meters. The fun fair is right next to the millerntor-stadium, you can see it in the distance here. Here we are, everything is full of light and music and people. How exciting! You can meet a fortune teller here also but we didn't went in to meet her. More lights and more music and more people, even an auto sccoter! We bought some nice sweets here, on one of the many shops. Here you can see the rollercoaster, it is built after the Olympic Rings. The last attraction we saw was the bis wheel. It wasn't so easy to take the picture with me and the bis wheel... We went back by underground, too. Therefore we used the well known station St. Pauli. Another exciting and cold day in Hamburg. What will wait for me next? Bye, Lilo |

Hello!
Christmas is getting nearer and what do all the people before christmas? Yes, baking cookies! And so did my host Jenny and Mister Snow and I today. First we gathered all the things needed for the cookies. We used a small kitchen scale and used the chance to know how heavy I am. 23 grams, I think that is more light than heavy. We put together everything and get some nice dough out of it. Before we can make the cookies the dough needed to be some time in the freezer. We rolled the dough and made some forms out of it. After baking the look like this. These ones are tiger ducks. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tigerente And here are some stars and snowmen and teddies. Ah, here is the dough after we rolled it out. We made stars out of it. We also made Moomin and Little Myy, they are Finnish children characters. Here are the cookies in the oven. After all the cookies were baked we started decorating them. So many cookies and all to eat for me... Okay, not just for me but I think I should try one now. Bye, Lilo |

Hello again!
Merry Christmas everyone! Today we wanted to have some time out and look at all the snow we have these days. Jenny told me that so much snow was not usual for Hamburg and in the years before 2009 there was hardly any snow at all in Hamburg. We took the train to the station Dammtor and then visited a park called "Planten and Blomen". Here you can see the station. Planten and Blomen is near to the TV-tower. We really had much snow but it was so beautiful. And very cold! There are many nice trees and plants in the park. Part of the park is designed in Japanese style. Here you can see the tea house. We had some rest and I think someone much heavier than us was sitting there but as all people are, that is nothing to wonder. There is a playground belonging to the park, too. After the playground we walked some more around. We were much nearer the TV-tower now! By now we were really frozen with cold and needed to go home and have some hot tea. Bye, Lilo |

Hello!
Oh, this is my first trip into another country with my host Jenny. She said that we are going to Slovenia and here we are! We made the first pictures in the train when we were crossing Austria. It was raining and we thought that we would like better weather when we arrive in Slovenia. Jenny and her friends wanted to go to Slovenia to visit the skijumping competition. The place where the skijumping hills are is called Planica and it was the biggest hill in the world until this year. They built a bigger one in Vikersund/Norway and also the world record is no longer in Planica... But here is the hill in Planica! And here are the seats. And here the places for the standing spectators, like we were, too! Around the skijumping hill are beautiful mountains. We stayed in Slovenia until Tuesday and went to the hill again on Monday because we wanted to go to the very top and have the view like the jumpers have just before their jump. We went by bus to the village Ratece, the next village to the hill as you can't live directly in the valley were the skijumping hill is located. At the beginning of the street to the valley was a lake with some ice on it. To get to the top of the skijumping hill we need to go along a path through the forest. It was very strange sometimes as the path leads in opposit direction as the hill was. But finally we came near and we had a great view over the area. And we came along the lift. And then finally we arrived at the hill but we weren't on top yet. Don't forget to have a look at these mountains! Then we started our way up. And then we were finally there, here you see me sitting in gate 11. What a view, I wouldn't jump down there! This is the way the jumpers take from the lift to the skijumping hill. This is the construction of the tower of the skijumping hill. Ah, they made me sit in the inrun... ...but we were at the flat end of the inrun already! Some more views from our way down. This is the old world record from Björn Einar Romören. Now it is only the actual hill record! They already put all the toilets together down in the fan area! More mountains On our way back we also saw this very small skijumping hill. And these small houses were the skijumpers change their clothes. Now we left the skijumping hill in Planica and went back to the bus. Tomorrow we will go back to Germany. Bye, Lilo |

Hello from Göttingen!
Another Postcrossing-Meeting, this time in Göttingen. We had a little walk through the city. Here is the town hall and also from the inside. And here some little shopping street. And here is some church, I can't remember the name... And more streets! In front of the church we found this statue. As it was a Postcrossing-Meeting we also bought some postcards of course! The first flowers of spring, how nice. On a street corner we found this very beautiful house. And here the most popular statue from Göttingen called the "Gänseliesel". They have a point in Göttingen from where you can see 5 churches in different directions. We were so busy signing postcards that we forgot to take photos at all later... Bye, Lilo |

Hello!
We arrived back in Germany and today we went to a Postcrossing-meeting. We did not make so many pictures because I have already been to most of the things we visited today. But afterwards we had some good food and fun while writing and signing cards. The text on the card says "He is so beautiful, I can only see him!" Can see see him, too? The restaurant we were was located at the Reeperbahn and we put all the cards at this post box, also located at this famous street. Jenny told me that we will visit some more Postcrossing meetings this year. Ooh, I am really curious to see all the Postcrossers! Bye, Lilo |

Hello!
Today we have been to Cologne, visiting another Postcrossing meeting. This one has been probably the biggest meeting ever made... As there were so many people, we didn't have time to walk so much around and take so many photos but the first thing we did is visiting the Dom. It is really really big and impressing! It has very beautiful windows. In the dim light it was not easy to take photos without lightning but we did our best... Here is a map of the Dom at the beginning of the stairs to the top of the tower. It could also lead in some deep cellar... On the way up we came along the big bell... Almost on top right here! And finally on top! I don't want to see any stairs so soon again. Ah, but we have to go down later. Here you see the Hohenzollern-Bridge. And a view over the river Rhine. There was little left of the Dom about us. I think it is very hard to get up there if necessary. A view over the city of Cologne And on the way down again... Here we are back on the ground, looking up were we have been... Afterwards we went to a fine restaurant and I met some interesting guys there! After a really funny day we went back to Hamburg! Bye, Lilo |

Hello again!
And another Postcrossing-Meeting. This hobby really brings us around in the country, there will be another one in Münster soon. But I should not mix things up, so I will first tell about Berlin! The meeting started at the TV-tower near Berlin-Alexanderplatz. As you can see, we had a really nice blue sky but also a cold wind. From the TV-tower we walked to the Potsdamer Platz and visit all the sights on the way. Berlin has a big aquarium center and this is what you can see from the outside. And not only Cologne has a Dom, Berlin has one, too! It is not so big but totally different in style. We walked along the street called "Unter den Linden" until we reached the Brandenburger Tor. From there we continued to the Postdamer Platz. After arriving at the Potsdamer Platz we went to a restaurant and tend to the usual writing and signing of cards. Ooh, they put a sticker on my back!! Unlike the other meetings, we went afterwards to a high house where you can go on top. There we had a great view over the city. Under this tent-roof we were eating just some time before. In the distance you can see the Reichstag, the government of Germany is located there. Now I am really tired, so much walking, so much talking and so much seeing. Bye, Lilo |
Mondfalke Posted Feb 17, 2012, 6:13 pm |
Hello!
I will now tell you from the Postcrossing-Meeting in Münster, the last one for a long time. We went there by train and had to change trains in Bremen. The town hall of Bremen. And this is called the "Bremer Roland". Back in the train again... We had to change trains again on Osnabrück. Finally in Münster we started to walk around the city. This picture shows the Stadthausturm. This is the old town-hall. I met some fellow Toyvoyagers there, too! The little Pikachu you can see on the next pictures is called Sanny and she will go with us back to Hamburg! We walked over a weekly market. We also visited the church next to the market. They have this little model of Münster in the city. On our way to take some food and drink we walked along this little church. And back to the postcard-part in Postcrossing-Meetings! They made some chocolate-lottery this time. Everybody brings his or her favorite chocolate and then numbers were drawn so that everbody has the favorite chocolate of somepne else. Our day in Münster was over too fast and we were back on the train too soon... We had again to change the train several times... After so much time in the train we were really tired after coming home. But we had so much fun that every minute was worth it! Bye, Lilo |

Hello!
It has been long since you last heard anything from me. I am still with Jenny and this weekend we were in Willingen in the Sauerland. We watched a world-cup skijumping competition. It was very cold in the last days in Germany and I was a little afraid of getting cold while standing at the skijumping hill but everything was fine then. We went there by train... ...and had to change at the station "Brilon Wald". Then finally we arrived at Willingen. The place in front of the train station. In the waiting building were plans of Willingen and of all the ski tracks around it. In the afternoon we went to the skijumping hill to watch the qualification. The next day we do some shopping first. You have a nice view to the mountains from in front of the supermarkets. And here we are at the hill again! The competition will start any minute... The Norwegian skijumper Anders Bardal won the competition and so soon we are back on our way home... I am really excited what will come next, there are no plans yet... Bye, Lilo |

Hello! Today I have learned to know my new host. It is Pegger. She has visited Jenny here in Hamburg and takes me now with her. But Pegger did not come alone. She had Kasper in her luggage. In the evening I and Kasper have "played the game of life." It was very funny! |
pegger Posted May 24, 2012, 10:03 am |
Later in the evening took Pegger me on tour. Just some impression off the night: Me infront of the Davidswache: Me on a police car: Street musicians: Some windows of sex shops. This is the access to the Herbert Street. Forbidden for women and youth under 18 years. So I have now met the Reeperbahn at night. |

Hello!
Today I was in a pizza bakery! Pegger has made home-made pizza and I could help her! At first she has spread flour on the table, so that the dough does not stick to the table Then she rolled out the dough on the table. As was the batter on the sheet, we have it covered with tomato sauce, mushrooms, ham and cheese. Hm, it looks very tasty! |

Hey!
Today we helped Pegger with coloring some of her clothes. You have to do a white powder on the laundry. In the container is color. As you can see, it's black And now rotates the washing machine and the laundry is again wonderful black. It makes you a bit dizzy, but that's not bad. |

Hello!
Pegger was let out of their carpool today in Garbsen! There we discovered this old railroad. It is used as a restaurant now. No idea how the signs called, but they are typical of railroad tracks! Kind regards Lilo! |

The sun is shining!
We sit at the cityharbor of Rostock and enjoy the weather. Although the sun is shining, it's windy. But that's normal here on the coast! There was plenty to see: ships, a circus, and other interesting things! |

What does the man do?
We have to look when he is gone! While waiting I noticed the bottle in the sea. Whether it's a message in a bottle? Too bad I do not get to the bottle to see if it's in a bottle. And here is the resolution of what the man has done: he has removed graffiti! On our journey we discovered this great power boxes: Bye bye! |

It was really nice there. And with the moon, even a little romantic! |

Hello! Today I was in Warnemünde. The weather was not that great. It was pretty windy. But it was great to let the wind blow in your face. Here you can see one of the ferries to Denmark or Sweden. This is the SKÅNE. One of the ferries traveling to Sweden. All the ferries are very similar. I do not know which of the three other ferries this is. It could be the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Kronprins Frederik or Prins Joachim. The sea is calm. No wave. But here you have some waves. A view from the pier towards the city. Some pictures from one of the lighthouses. The weather was apparently perfect for sailing. In any case, many sailors were visible. Other kinds of ships too. A look at the ocean floor. And beach views. The view from the railway bridge in Warnemünde. It is called Love Bridge. More and more young couples mount as a sign of eternal love locks on the Warnemünde station bridge and throw the key into the old river. It was a nice trip! |

Hello!
Pegger got post today! Kasper and I were so curious. We really wanted to know what was in the envelope. She allowed us to open the envelope and take a look inside. What we discovered? Uilina came in to us! We made friends right away with her! And now we are excited about what we will experience together. Until then! Bye! |

Today we were traveling with the dogs.
And I have met the environment of Osterode am Harz. Luckily it was a great sunny weather. Finally no more rain. Bye bye! |

Today we were just at Peggers parents at home. But there was nobody there. We wanted to get even fix post. We discovered these two trolls. A little to fear, but they are very nice.
See you soon! |

I came back with Easy, a travelling rat which belongs to my last host. We arrived at home just in time for breakfast. Mummy told me that she moved to another place in the meantime. It seems to be a nice place with a small park just in front of the housing complex. Bye for now Panda_Lilo |

After spending some time in my new home I thought it was time for travelling again. I've got an invitation to visit Jasper in Switzerland. This sounds great!
Today I packed some things and hopped into my envelope. My friends Easy and Stoker will also leave today. Mummy promised that the journey to Switzerland would not last too long. Jasper, I'm coming!!! Panda_Lilo |

Hi mummy,
I have arrived. First, I heard scratching and sniffing then my envelope was opened. A funny dog stuck his nose into it and pulled out my postcard, then the sweets and then my precious, green bundle. A pink fish watching him all the time. Finally, I climbed out. I saw two white rabbit and a turtle sitting on a bench. All welcomed me warmly but the turtle staring at me, I thought. A few seconds later, I knew what he was staring at. It was the candy. I took a seat on the little bench and watched what happened. Mummy, that could be funny here. Your little Panda Lilo P.S. a few hours later Jasper gave me a little red book and told me that my green bundle is save now. |
Jasper Posted Apr 14, 2013, 3:46 pm |
Hi mummy,
Today I sat on the little bench and chilled out a bit. Suddenly someone said hello to me. It was a little panda. He's not a TV and he has no name. He came as plant decoration to Jasper. I call him Boy and I find it nice to have a conspecifics here. See you mummy Panda_Lilo |

Hi mum,
Today we visited with Jasper a fair for holidays and leisure time. First we took the bus and then the train to St. Gallen. We visited a booth with travel books, I got itchy feet. We could not take many photos because so many people were there. Outside, we saw camels and horses. It was a beautiful day but so many people. much greetings, Lilo |

Hi mum,
Two days ago I was sitting on the balcony in the sun. We had 23 degrees and enjoyed the spring to the fullest. When I woke up this morning and looked out the window, everything was white, I could not believe it. Overnight it had snowed again, 10 cm. It's so cold. Never ends this winter? Kind regards from a frustrated Panda Lilo |

Love mum, tomorrow I'll go into holidays to France.
It's just a short break but we will visit the Alsace. Fine wines, delicious food and hopefully nice weather. The suitcase is packed, it can go off. I'll call you when I get back. See you soon Lilo, your little Panda |
Jasper Posted Apr 28, 2013, 11:31 am |
Hello mum,
We are back from wonderful short holiday. With Jasper and her daughter we explored the "Route de Vin" (wine route) in Alsace. A paradise for wine lovers, gourmet and storks. We started with best weather and looked gorgeous little wine villages. In Ribeauvillé we made the first break and tried Riesling d'alsace. Excellent. We saw a stork's nest on an old tower. On a tour of the city we discovered many beautiful old houses, shops and fun artwork. And vineyards, where you look. Then we drove to our hotel in Rosheim. This small wine village near Strasbourg has four gates. One of them is called Zittglöckle (time bell) because it has a clock. The old well had originally three buckets to fetch water upward. This was our hotel. Jasper forgot to take a picture but we took a little postcard on which it is seen. This was the view from our balcony in the garden with the magnificent weeping willow. That was our first day. We were curious what would bring the other day. Panda_Lilo |
Jasper Posted Apr 29, 2013, 10:23 pm |
Hi, all at home,
the second day of our holiday we spent in Strasburg. All were pretty tired when Jasper woke us up, but the nice weather lured us outside. Arrived in Strasburg we walked to the cathedral along the Ill River. We marveled at an old carousel. Then we saw the cathedral. It is really impressive. Strasbourg Cathedral or the Cathedral of Our Lady of Strasbourg (French: Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Strasbourg, German: Notre Dame Cathedral in Strasbourg), also known as Strasbourg Minster, is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Strasbourg, Alsace, France. At 142 meters (466 feet), it was the world's tallest building from 1647 to 1874, When it was surpassed by St. Nikolai's Church, Hamburg. Today it is the sixth-tallest church in the world and the highest still-standing structure Entirely built in the Middle Ages. The cathedral is visible far across the plains of Alsace and can be seen from as far off as the Vosges Mountains or the Black Forest on the other side of the Rhine. Sandstone from the Vosges used in construction gives the cathedral its characteristic pink hue. The Place de la Republique, it was not far. Colorful spring flowers and the War Memorial were there to see. The Palais du Rhin is also there. Then we saw the Church of Saint Paul. We walked on the Ill river to the Pont Couvert (covered bridge) and also saw there this towers. One of them is called hangman tower. We could imagine what happened there before. On our way home we saw this funny house. It is called "the worm hole"(Schneggeloch) Arrived at the hotel we were very exhausted. We slept a little but not too long because it was a full moon and we absolutely had to see. Bye for today Lilo |
Jasper Posted May 1, 2013, 6:28 pm |
Hi mum,
after we had admired the full moon enough, we enjoyed another bottle of wine and then fell into a deep sleep. The next day was like our heads - cloudy. On the way to our next destination we stopped often and let the wind blow us around the nose. And again, as far as one could see vineyards. Then we reached Haut-Königsbourg, a 900-year old fortress. A truly impressive building. After a break and delicious food, we drove to our hotel to Riquewihr. Unfortunately it started to rain heavily. Jasper had to decide - Camera or umbrella. She opted for the umbrella. So we spent the rest of the day and the journey home into Jasper's bag. A little wet, tired but happy about the nice days. Miss you mum, Panda_Lilo |
Jasper Posted May 10, 2013, 8:20 pm |
Last weekend Jasper promised a special trip for Thursday, when the weather is good - really good. So we kept our fingers crossed for the whole week, but the weather forecast was not promising. Host dad decided: We try.
Thursday: Get up 5 clock in the morning, Departure 1 hour later. Much too early for TV's. Therefore, we slept on during the car ride. As Jasper woke us the next time we were in Interlaken train station. The ticket showed us: We travel to the Jungfraujoch. To the highest train station in Europe. The first train took us to Grindelwald at the foot of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, the well-known mountains in the Bernese Oberland. There, we changed the train to Kleine Scheidegg, the starting point for the trekkers climbing the Eiger North Face. Here you see this notorious mountain wall, which has so many climbers cost their lives. Next, we boarded the red train to the Jungfraujoch. This train is required in addition to the normal rails a gear to overcome the steep climbs. As the train travels most of the time in tunnels, there are several breakpoints on the line with windows. From there you can admire famous places. Our first stop, and also the last outside of the tunnel, was Eigergletscher. From the once mighty glacier is not much left. The next stop was Eigerwand. The view from the middle of the Eiger North Wall was breathtaking. The last stop is called Eismeer. Here you can see the glacier crashes between Eiger and Mönch. Then we reached the highest station in Europe. 3454 meters above sea level. It was too dark to make pictures. We took the elevator to the Sphinx. 117 meters in 26 seconds. The Sphinx is a research station and an observatory. In 1996, the observation deck was opened. On clear days one has a fantastic view. This mountain is called Mönch and is 4107 meters (13475ft.) high. This is the Sphinx. It was very stormy. Through this wind changed fog, clouds and a clear view in seconds - unbelievable. Then we took a walk on the Aletsch Glacier. This glacier is the largest of the Alps in terms of area and almost 23 kilometers long. The ice flows at a speed of 180 meters per year towards the Rhone. On Konkordiaplatz the ice thickness is about 900 meters. We were not allowed to leave the path of the glacier under any circumstances. Right and left there are deep crevasses - life threatening. But the outlook was fantastic. This is the Jungfraujoch. If you look closely, you see at the top the Sphinx - quite small they stuck to the rock. This is a big glacier demolition. Then we marveled at various exhibitions and the Ice Palace. Can you imagine that they need to cool down these halls, which consist only of ice at minus 3 degrees? Because of the body heat of the many tourists. Then it was time for the return journey. Everyone was tired and fell asleep on the train - we also. In Kleine Scheidegg we changed train, took one last look at the Eiger and Jungfraujochbahn and went on to Wengen. This place is famous because of the Lauberhorn downhill skiing. We were looking for the famous ski run - but without snow? We have not found. The rest of the way we slept in Jasper's bag. We were all very tired - but what an adventure. Many greetings from high above Panda_Lilo |

Hello mum,
when I woke up this morning, I saw a small hippo sitting on our little bench and have breakfast. Jasper introduced us. Ismaya is the name of the hippo and he comes from Bali, Indonesia. It rattles with the teeth because it is so cold here. This morning it was 7 degrees. Then Ismaya showed us his gifts. Wonderful things from his home country. We gave him a group hug and greeted him warmly. Later we told a lot of our adventures and Ismaya marveled. He is on his first trip. We will have lots of fun with him when he stops teeth from chattering. See you soon Pand_Lilo |

Hi mum,
Today Jasper had a surprise for me. After dinner there was a big ice cream in the kitchen. For me, all alone. Vanilla ice cream with strawberries and whipped cream. oohh, I had a few small problems, but I did it. It was delicious. Big enough for my Life Mission? Sweet greetings from your little panda Lilo |

The last few days were boring. Only bad weather and cold it is. Today we made soap bubbles. First, we have tried it in the dining room but Jasper has sent us out to the balcony. Too much water and soap on the table and the floor. We had lots of fun on the balcony. yours Panda_Lilo |

Hi mom,
Yesterday we had to say goodbye to Salmonella. She travels home. In parting, we celebrated a tea party with cucumber sandwiches and scones and cream and strawberry jam, and of course tea. We enjoyed the food and talked a lot of days gone by. Then Salmonella packed her things and it was time to say goodbye. We gave her a big group hug and wished her a safe journey. A little sad we watched her as she slipped into her jacket. Bye, bye good friend, maybe we'll meet again. Also, bye, bye dear mom, your little panda Lilo |

Hi mom,
Today we took a small break in the rain and walked 10 minutes to the outside. We found large tree mushrooms. A little change in this gloomy monotony. hugs from Panda_Lilo |

Hello mum,
we had floods and landslides. Our small river Thur rose over 2 meters. To pass the time I looked Hase knitting, folded paper and played with SnakeSpeare, who wants to be a TV too. Hugs from your little panda Lilo |

Hi mom,
The last few days were exciting and boring at the same time. We had heavy rains, floods and landslides and we could not go outside. As the weather improved, Jasper's dad had to go to the hospital. Again, no time for walks or excursions. But today the weather is wonderful and grumpy grandpa is healthy again. Early in the morning we started for a walk to the river Thur. It was lovely. Everything was very quiet, most people were still asleep. You could hear the birds chirping and rushing the river and the air smelled of hay. We went over a small bridge. The river looks so romantic. We sat in the moss and ran through between rocks. A narrow footpath led us to the waterfall. Then we walked along the shore and saw remnants of the flooding. On the grass in the trees you can see how high the water was. By beautiful forests and mysterious gorges, we were on our way home. In one of the houses that you see in the background I live. At the end of our walk we discovered these wonderful flowers. It was great. Thousand kisses Lilo |

Hello home
Today I was a pilgrim on the Camino de Santiago. Honestly it was a coincidence. We wanted to visit the ruins Iberg. On our way we saw this sign. We felt very special. From the castle we had a great view over the Thur Valley. On our way home we sat on a funny looking tree. It stung a little on my butt. Hugs from Lilo |

Hi mum,
Sunday we made a trip to the Säntis. We boarded the cable car and drove to the summit. At 2,502.9 meters above sea level, Säntis is the highest mountain in the Alpstein massif of northeastern Switzerland. The mountain is a highly visible landmark thanks to its exposed northerly position within the Alpstein massif. The panorama from the summit is spectacular. Six countries can be seen if the weather allows: Switzerland, Germany, It is somewhat difficult to see, but the gray spot in the middle on the horizon is the Lake Constance. Austria, Liechtenstein, France, and Italy. The exposed position of Säntis results in weather conditions normally observed in the high Alps. For example in April 1999, just beneath the summit on the northern snowfield of the mountain, a snow height of 816 cm (321 in) was recorded. The daily mean temperature is −1.9 °C (28.6 °F) with a precipitation of 2,701 mm (106.3 in) per year. The International Meteorological Congress of Rome in 1879 declared it as a necessity to build weather stations on adequate and accessible summits. Therefore, the Swiss built a weather station on Säntis. The weather station was commissioned in autumn of 1882. Located at the peak of the Säntis is a 123.55 meter high transmission tower, which was commissioned in November 1997. I sat on rocks and admired rare alpine plants. I also visited an exhibition of minerals. I had such a nice day. Your Panda_Lilo |

Hello mum,
yesterday, when Jasper was at work, the bell rang at the door. Although it is not allowed to open the door in Jasper's absence, we could not resist. Hase opened the door a little bit and discovered a envelope with interesting stamps. A packet from Trinidad and Tobago, wow. Together we brought the envelope into the dining room and considered what we should do. We opened it. The result was a small giraffe, wrapped in pink paper. We introduced ourselves and gave GiGi (so the giraffe is called) a warm welcome. She is so cute, I like her. yours Lilo |

Hi mum,
Today we celebrated Shakespeare's birthday. Its 89th Birthday. Can you imagine that? At Wikipedia we read, the turtles have lived on the earth before the dinosaurs evolved. Shakespeare has held up well. We congratulated him and sang a song. He got a cake and a fishing rod. While we waited for the cake, he practiced fishing. Greetings from Lilo, who hopes the rainy season is almost over. |

Today we said goodbye to Hase. She travels home to visit her mom. Therefore, we had a big party yesterday. Sweets as much as we wanted. We could bathe in it and had so much fun. There was a lot of laughter and stories and adventures were told. But today we had heavy heart. As Hase grabbed her things a few tears flowed. We all wished her a safe journey. Bye mom Panda_Lilo |

Hello mummy,
weekend was the northeastern Swiss Yodel Festival in the neighboring town. It was a great event with 4000 participants and about 45,000 visitors. I attended the parade on Sunday. 60 teams or choirs participated with festive floats. I saw many women, men and children in beautiful traditional costumes. Some distributed specialties from their home, others threw sweets into the audience. We had a lot to do with the pickup. The oldtimer of a brewery. Flag wavers Herding dogs Musicians on horses A very, very old fire truck. An old post coach Alphorns And that is something very special. It is called "Schelle Schöttle" (bells shaking) In Eastern Switzerland for the alp procession only the three leading cows wear huge bells made of welded sheet metal. The bells are valuable and on the way up, the herdsmen remove them from the cows in order to protect them. They are carried by the men on yokes over their shoulders. This tradition, documented first in 1838, may have led to the so-called bell-shaking, a musical practice which was observed first in the middle of the 19th century. The Appenzellers shake the bells for fun, much in the way that other play cards. But often the bells are moved forwards and backwards to accompany the improvised polyphonic yodel vocalising. Here you see me at the bus station on my way home This is what we catched. I had a very nice day and I learned a lot of Swiss traditions. Bye for now Lilo |

Hi mom,
Today we had some work to do. We - TV's - got new furniture. A new couch and a new chair. This furniture we had to drag to the third floor. Very sweaty. But they are very comfortable. Luckily Jasper also bought a deck chair. After work, we were able to relax on it. And tomorrow we will travel to Lake Constance. But this is a new adventure. See you mom your little Panda Lilo |

Hi mom,
Today we made a trip to Konstanz. Konstanz; English: Constance) is a university city with approximately 80,000 inhabitants Konstanz is situated on Lake Constance (the Bodensee in German). The Rhine river, which starts in the Swiss Alps, passes through Lake Constance and leaves it, considerably larger, by flowing under a bridge connecting the two parts of the city. North of the river lies the larger part of the city with residential areas, industrial estates, and the University of Konstanz; while south of the river is the old town which houses the administrative centre and shopping facilities in addition to the Hochschule or the University of Applied Sciences. Car ferries provide access across Lake Constance to Meersburg, and the Katamaran provides a shuttle service for pedestrians to Friedrichshafen. To the south, the old town borders onto the Swiss town of Kreuzlingen. This is the Munster. We saw beautiful old houses. The casino - we wanted to play roulette or blackjack, but Jasper said no. So we admired the view, and talked with a swan. Behind us you can see the Steigenberger, a luxury hotel. On the way to the old town. This is the Town Hall The courtyard of the town hall. Still a lovely old house called Graf Zeppelin. Here we are at the harbor. At the harbor entrance stands the Imperia. The Imperia is a statue at the entrance of the harbour of Konstanz, Germany, commemorating the Council of Constance that took place there between 1414 and 1418. The concrete statue is 9 metres high, weighs 18 tonnes, and stands on a pedestal that rotates around its axis once every four minutes. The Imperia shows a woman holding two men on her hands. The two men represent Pope Martin V and Emperor Sigismund. Martin V was elected during the Council while Sigismund was the king who called the council. Both are naked except for the crown and papal tiara, respectively, that they wear as symbols of their power. Jasper suddenly saw a Zeppelin on the way home. Unfortunately, we were crossing a bridge and could not stop. And unfortunately he is not very good to see. The little dot next to the flag. Now I'm tired. Good night mum Panda_Lilo |

Hi mom,
Sunday we took a trip into the history of Switzerland and walked a little on William Tell's footsteps. We visited the Central Switzerland and Lake Lucerne. On our way we saw many beautiful landscapes and of course lakes. The first lake was the Aegerisee in Canton Zug. From high above we could look at him. We drove along Lake Lucerne to Sisikon and hiked on the "Swiss Path" (The Swiss Path is the name given to a special national path in central Switzerland opened in 1991. It makes a loop around one arm of Lake Lucerne, starting in Rütli and passing through Bauen, Flüelen, Sisikon and Morschach, finishing at Brunnen. The total length is around 35 km (22 mi), taking 2 or 3 days to complete. The route recognises each of the cantons making up Switzerland, with markers announcing each canton along the route. The length of route for each canton is proportional to the population at the time of building, and the order is determined by the order in which the cantons joined the Swiss federation) to Tell chapel, the oldest chapel in Switzerland. It lies on the Tellsplatte, where according to legend, William Tell to have jumped from the boat of the provincial governor Gessler. Already in 1388 a chapel was built. In 1503 as a chapel Holy Hüslin is mentioned. A new or remodeling was 1590th The present chapel was built in 1879 / in 1880. It is adorned with four frescoes by Basel artist Ernst Stückelberg shows the Rütlischwur the apple shot, the death of Gessler and Tell Leap. Here you see Tell's leap. We drove on to Altdorf, the capital of the canton of Uri. Altdorf is best known as the place where, according to the legend, William Tell shot the apple from his son's head. This act by tradition happened on the market-place, where in 1895, at the foot of an old tower (with rude frescoes commemorating the feat), there was set up a fine bronze statue of Tell and his son. In 1899 a theatre was opened close to the town's center for the purpose of performing Schiller's play of Wilhelm Tell. Here you see me before Tell's Memorial. Continue along the lake and through many tunnels we drove towards Brünnigpass. The pass is nothing special but on the way one has a view of the Lungerensee. And that is something special. Looks like a post card. Hiking and driving made us very tired. The way home we slept. See you mom Lilo |

Hi mum
Today we were on the river Thur. We wanted to swim and fish. Jasper had much to bear: some beach towels, sun deck, fishing rod, hammock and a parasol and of course us. Once at the river we looked for a suitable place. We found a small sand bar that had washed up the flood and made ourselves comfortable. Shakespeare threw his fishing rod but nothing wanted to bite. But the mosquitoes bite, and that us. We tried to make a fire but everything was still damp from the storm last night. It took some effort but we managed it. We all had a fun day. yours, Lilo |
Jasper Posted Jul 22, 2013, 6:44 pm |
Hi mom,
Today is Sunday and we enjoy the day and the sun on the balcony. Too many people and mosquitoes at the Thur. We lounged around all day. We drank a lot of water but not only. For dinner we had something special: prawns and focaccia. We celebrated Wolley's farewell. He travels to the French part of Switzerland and met his mother there. He is very happy. We laughed and talked until late into the night. Bye mum, Lilo |
Jasper Posted Jul 22, 2013, 7:20 pm |
Hi mom,
when we woke up this morning, Wolley's bed was empty. We found a letter from him. Shakespeare read it to us. Wolley do not like goodbyes and tears longer, so he has sneaked in the morning. Goodbye friend, have a safe trip. Bye mom, your somewhat wistful Panda_ Lilo |

Hi mom,
it is soo hot here, and on the weekend it will be even warmer. To 37 °. I'm going to melt. Today I used a small breeze and sat some time on the swing. You will not believe it - a seal climbed up the ropes. This funny animal is called Sally. I always have to laugh when she makes her crazy things. Now I'm looking for a cool place. Maybe the fridge? See you your melting Lilo |
Jasper Posted Jul 27, 2013, 5:34 pm |
Hi mom,
Today I said goodbye to Sally. She started to her first trip. I hugged her and wished her a safe journey. Then for me there was only one thing: relax. At 35 ° in the shade you can not do much. Thank God we have a small pool to cool off. Hugs Lilo |
Jasper Posted Jul 31, 2013, 10:49 am |
Hi mom,
Yesterday we started at 6 in the morning to Munich. Fairly early but we had to drive nearly 280 kilometers. The weather was nice but the time was long. Then finally - we saw our first destination. The Allianz Arena. Home of FC Bayern Munich. We marveled trophies, soccer stars and exhibits. Then we took a tour of the arena. Fan or not - it was very impressive. With the subway we went to the City. First stop: the famous Hofbräuhaus. The Hofbräuhaus am Platzl is a beer hall in the city center of Munich, Germany. The inn was originally built in 1598 by Bavarian Duke Maximilian I. It was built as an extension of the original Hofbräu brewery, but for Weissbier (wheat beer). The general public was admitted only in 1828 by then king Ludwig I. The building was completely remodeled in 1897 by Max Littmann, when the brewery moved to the suburbs. In the bombing of WW II, everything but the ground floor (Schwemme) was destroyed; it took until 1958 to be rebuilt. First we drank a beer - ooh so good - and ate a big pretzel. Then we tried a specialty: pork shank and dumplings. Yummy, yummy. Stuffed full, we needed some movement. We looked at the restaurant of a famous celebrity chef and tried his ice cream. Not bad. After looking at the beautiful old houses we went further to Viktualienmarkt. The Viktualienmarkt is a daily food market and a square in the center of Munich, Germany. The Viktualienmarkt developed from an original farmers' market to a popular market for gourmets. In an area covering 22,000 m2 (240,000 sq ft), 140 stalls and shops offer flowers, exotic fruit, game, poultry, spices, cheese, fish, juices and so on. The maypole at Viktualienmarkt. The tower of St. Peter church. The parish church of Saint Peter, whose tower is commonly known as "Alter Peter" - Old Peter - and which is emblematic of Munich, is the oldest recorded parish church in Munich and presumably the originating point for the whole city. Then was our interest in the Marienplatz with the "New Town Hall". It was built between 1867 and 1908 by Georg von Hauberrisser in a Gothic Revival architecture style. It covers an area of 9159 m² having 400 rooms. The 100 meters long main facade towards the Marienplatz is richly decorated. It shows the Guelph Duke Henry the Lion, and almost the entire line of the Wittelsbach dynasty in Bavaria and is the largest princely cycle in a German town hall. The central monument in the center of the main facade between the two phases at Marienplatz above the guard house, is an equestrian statue of Prince Regent Luitpold. The bay of the tower contains statues of the first four Bavarian kings. The main facade is placed toward the plaza, while the back side is adjacent to a small park (Marienhof). The basement is almost completely occupied by a large restaurant called Ratskeller. On the ground floor, some rooms are rented for small businesses. Also located in the ground floor is the major official tourist information. The first floor hosts a big balcony towards the Marienplatz which is used for large festivals such as football championships or for concerts during the Weihnachtsmarkt. Its main tower has a height of 85 m and is available for visitors with an elevator. On the top thrones the Münchner Kindl. The Rathaus-Glockenspiel, performed by an apparatus daily on 11am, 12pm and 5pm, is a tourist attraction. Not only we want to see this place. It was just time for the chimes. Next to the town hall tower you can see the towers of the Frauenkirche (Church of our Lady), another famous church of Munich. By Kaufingerstrasse (shopping street and pedestrian zone) we walked to the Frauenkirche. The picture looks a little funny but the church is being renovated. That was the only part which is not blocked by scaffolding. Jasper did her best. Slowly, it was time to think on the way home. At Stachus (Karlsplatz) we took the subway back to our car. Then drive for hours. We still enjoyed a beautiful sunset then fell into bed tired but happy. Love you mom, Lilo |
Jasper Posted Aug 3, 2013, 11:00 am |
Hi mom,
Thursday, 6 clock in the morning. We packed our suitcases once again. Our destination: Engelberg 9 am - We stopped at Lake Lucerne. Jasper showed us the Rütli on the other side of the lake. The Rütli, a meadow, is a historic site for the Swiss. 1291 here three brave men have made a covenant by oath against the Habsburgs (the evil taskmasters). This Rütli Oath is considered the founding of Switzerland and is on 1 August celebrated as a national holiday. Awesome we looked at the small meadow. The small round lakeside lawn - right above my nose) Then we drove to Engelberg. Engelberg is the leading mountain resort (Urner Alps) in central Switzerland. In the Middle Ages, Engelberg was known for the educational accomplishments of its Benedictine monastery, the Engelberg Abbey, whose school was well-known and regarded throughout the country. From the 19th Century, Engelberg became internationally known as a resort and spa, but is today visited as much for skiing as for its clean air. With its combination of modern sports facilities and alpine location, Engelberg is a magnet for both summer and winter tourism. The closest large cities are Lucerne and Zurich. This was our hotel. After checking in, we went immediately on the way to the cable car and drove to Härzlisee (little heart lake) The mountains here are a paradise for paragliders. Because mountain air makes you hungry, we strengthened ourselves with specialties of the region and a glass of wine. Then we enjoyed the great view and the beautiful weather. On our way back we saw the monastery. We also had a look at the magnificent monastery church. The monks just celebrated their evening prayers. Out of respect we did not take pictures. Due to the National Day there was a great feast in the village. There was so much to see. Jasper wanted to photograph everything, but the masses of people made it impossible. Here are a few pictures of the parade. Mom, it's 9:30 pm and still as bright. On the way to the hotel we saw far away on the mountainside a cross of torches. Exhausted, we fell into bed. Love you,Lilo |
Jasper Posted Aug 3, 2013, 4:35 pm |
Hello all my friends,
Next day - next fun. We all awoke early in the morning. On the balcony we had a good view of Engelberg. The wonderful fresh air and the sun awakened the thirst for action within us. Quickly host dad thrown out of the bed and then for breakfast. Strengthened for the adventure of the day we were waiting in the lounge, while host dad paid the bill. The angel of the hotel. These angels sculptures standing throughout Engelberg (Engelberg - Angel Mountain) and are painted individually. And because our hotel was named "Edelweiss" , this angel is painted with Edelweiss. So, our destination today: Mount Titlis On this panel you can see what heights we will move today. The first look at the summit. The first view from the summit. Speechless, we admired the mountains. The transmission system. Cooling in the snow. And now the Cliff Walk! The test of courage. Not for us, for Jasper. Europe's highest suspension bridge. Only 140 meters long but 500 meter abyss below. It swayed and wobbled and it was absolutely great. Because Jasper thought she need to sit down, we decided to take the Ice Flyer - the glacier chairlift. Haha, we had to stay in Jasper's pocket. Minimum size of 1:20 meters. One after another was allowed to come out of pocket for a picture. Jasper was afraid we might fall and forever disappear into a crevasse. Perhaps we would show up after years or decades as a TV glacier mummy again. An interesting idea. After a short break on the glacier we took the cable car down to our next destination. Trübsee, a small mountain lake on a high plateau below the Titlis. We walked around the lake and marveled again and again the mountain scenery and the plants. Then it was finally time for the journey home. The cable car took us back to Engelberg. Here you can imagine how steep it is. We had much to talk about on the way home but at some point we fell asleep and dreamed of Cliff Walk. We had two great days. See you soon Lilo |

Hi mommy,
yesterday we celebrated DottiScottis 1 Birthday. She got a big cake with a candle. We played music and sang Happy Birthday. Dotti blew out the candle and cut the cake. Then we all enjoyed a large piece. It tasted wonderful. She also got a gift. 3 wishes. Whatever she want - if Jasper can fulfill it, she will do it. Love you mommy Lilo |
Jasper Posted Aug 10, 2013, 4:51 pm |
Hi mum,
do you remember the three wishes that Dotti got for her birthday? One of them she used for a farewell pizza party for Shakespeare and GiGi Giraffe. So last night we sat together one last time, and enjoyed our pizza. Then they packed up their belongings and said goodbye. Their path leads to Austria + Canada. After a big hug and many good wishes they crawled into their envelopes. Goodbye my friends, have a good time. Have also a good time mum. Your little Panda_ Lilo |

Hi mom,
when Jasper came home from work today, she brought with her a new guest and a packet. Jasper introduced us. Twixx is the name of the little billy goat. We all greeted him very friendly. Together we went to the dining room where he showed us his gifts. Curious, we then opened the other envelope. Many sweets, a nice card, a tiny pilgrim's staff and a film container appeared. Snake Speare carefully opened the box and a small - really small mouse looked out. Frederik. We welcomed him warmly and hugged him very carefully. Two new friends - now the fun can go on. Hugs and kisses Lilo |

Hi mommy,
Yesterday I visited the Alp Sellamatt. First we took the car to Alt St. Johann and there boarded the cable car. This brought us to 1390 meters above sea level. We had a great view of the Thur valley, the Säntis and Churfirsten. We hiked on a circular route and there was a lot to see: Happy pigs Alpine chalets and many beautiful plants. We also wanted to visit a small chapel but there just a baptism took place. Because we do not want to disturb, we sat on the low wall in front and enjoyed the view. At a fountain we refreshed ourselves. Over the upper Alp our path led us back to the cable car. I slept very, very well that night. Hugs from Lilo |

Hello mum,
Yesterday, for dinner I tried Chinese delicacies. There were fried prawns with chilli sauce, duck with fried vegetables and peanuts, hot and spicy chicken, vegetables with oyster sauce. And of course rice. I had to realize that eating with chopsticks is not innate to me. With a little help and a little trick it worked. I tried everything and it tasted delicious. Most of all I liked the prawns with chili sauce. In the end I was stuffed but a small dessert (chocolate ice cream with cherries in brandy) still had space. Not really Chinese, but yummy. Was also easier to eat - I could use the spoon. Was that my next life mission? In any case, it was delicious. Greetings from a stuffed but happy panda Lilo |

Hi mommy,
Yesterday we attended a special event. A hot-air balloon festival. I could watch up close as the hot air balloons were made ready for launch. (mom, I do not wear a toupee. These are the hair of a woman directly behind me.) First the balloon envelope is spread and then inflated with a huge fan. Subsequently, the air is heated with a gas burner. The hotter the air is the more the balloon rises. Then the pilot and passengers climb into the basket and the balloon takes off. It was great. I will also be balloonist. I've found the perfect balloon - TV size. After I had watched many balloons at the start, I was waiting for the highlight of the day - the night glow. Isn't this an incredible sight? Hugs Lilo |

Hello mom,
Sunday morning and it's still raining - or again? We do not know. Well that Jasper has found something interesting that does not require good weather. So we went to Stein in Appenzell and visited a show dairy. Here we could see how the famous Appenzeller cheese is made. Mom, you know it surely from advertising: the one with the herbal brine. A cutting-edge facility that is operated by one person, processed thousands of liters of milk into cheese. Then, we let us explain the care and ripening of cheese. Very interesting. And then - a cheese lover's paradise. Approx. 15,000 cheeses are stored here. Slowly but surely we were hungry. Unfortunately, this was not for us. Then Jasper found a place for us and we enjoyed cheese and other delicacies. I had a very interesting and yummy day. Bye mom Lilo |

Hi mom,
Today Jasper baked a cake for us. She hopes that improves our mood, which has reached a low point after another week of continuous rain. The aroma was fantastic and we could not wait to try a piece. Stuffed full and satisfied I discovered even a little blue sky and a ray of sunshine. There is hope. Hugs from your little Panda Lilo |

Hello mom,
Jasper had a lot to do yesterday. Because the weather was so beautiful we have connected the "Must" with the "Allow". So we strolled in Wattwil - the center of the Thur Valley - along the Thur. Far away we saw the monastery of St. Mary of the Angels. (The small white houses above the center of the bridge) On the other side of the river stands the high school. Host brother learned here before he studied chemistry in Zurich. Because the Thur valley is so narrow, most residential areas are built on slopes. This bridge - a pedestrian bridge - is one of many that cross the Thur. Wattwil alone has seven bridges. The redesigned train station place. Among them a parking garage was built. The Post Bridge - built in 1909. This futuristic structure is the steeple of the Protestant church. The view from the post Bridge. So we had circled the center of Wattwil. Now came the "must". We ran to the bank, the post office and the supermarket. Go for a walk was funnier. Hugs Lilo |

Hi mommy,
Yesterday we welcomed a new guest. A nice girlie horse named Hanne Hü. When I saw her the first time she was still asleep. Later, in our living room, we greeted her warmly and talked very nice. I think we can have a lot of fun together. Hugs and kisses Lilo |

Hi mommy
it's me again. Yesterday there was a Swiss specialty for dinner - cheese fondue. Hungry I waited until Jasper brought the melted cheese. Then I had to stuck a piece of bread on a long fork, and thus stir in the melted cheese. That was funny, especially because I stirred so wild that Jasper was afraid I might fall into the cheese. After a short wait - the cheese was so hot - I enjoyed my first bite. Very yummy. To empty the pot was not a problem. Now I am looking forward to raclette. yours Lilo |

Hi mommy,
Yesterday I visited the small town of Lichtensteig. Lichtensteig is first Mentioned in 1228 as Liehtvnsteige and has since the Middle Ages, the city - and markets law. The municipality has a medieval old town («city»). The oldest houses, which are also part of the city walls, are dated on the first half of the 15th Century. The Town Hall. This building was a few years ago the county jail. This poor, ugly man stands in front of the bank building. The UBS branch in Lichtensteig, founded in 1863 as Toggenburg Bank, is the origin of today's biggest bank in Switzerland. In 1992, the UBS branch bought the artwork "Lost Shadows" and let up before their home business. A naked man moves out from under a blanket and looks shocked at the sky. The sculpture immediately became an moral nuisance in the town. The figure was transferred back and turned so that her nakedness is no longer visible from the main alley. Good, we live outside. Through this gate we came to a place called "goldener Boden" Formerly a marketplace, it is used as a car park. Many beautiful houses are here. Through the "Hintergasse" we came to the "Schmalzhaus". "Gall'sche Offizin" on the ground floor is a hand typesetting and printing with antique pleadings. A wise saying on the wall. Here you see the old town hall. The main street with the arcades. The Löwengasse with the restaurant - Löwen. The district building with its bay window. Again, the mainstreet - this time from below. Looks a bit sad, in this weather. From here you can see the station. In the background is the railway bridge over the river Thur. Lichtensteig seen from the station bridge. Everywhere is dug and built. The main street from above. On our way home, I saw again the bank building. The veterinarian. Good to know. This is the evangelical church. This is the old weaving. Today, a Oldtimer Museeum and the model railway club housed therein. Kägi, the famous waffle maker. Just 200 meters from home. In certain wind conditions you can smell at home when they melt chocolate or make waffles. My last visit was to the St. Loreto Chapel. Small but beautiful. Every day at 11am and at 4pm we hear the bells ringing. That was our walk in and around Lichtensteig. It was beautiful but cold. Time for warmer clothes. Bye bye and kisses Lilo |

Hi mommy,
at the moment I would like to spend the whole day in bed. The weather is lousy. For two weeks I have not seen the sun. Only fog and rain. On Thursday we go on holiday. Wish me luck that the weather is better then. Hugs Lilo |

Hi mommy,
it's me again. Our first trip took us to Schönbrunn, the summer residence of Empress Maria Theresia. The exceptionally large Castle (1441 rooms) is built in baroque and rococo style. It served as the residence of the imperial family, but also for representative purposes. The Neptune Fountain was built in 1776-1780. The Palm House. In the huge park countless gardeners were busy prepare the beds for winter. The Gloriette. In front of the castle we met "Mozart". For me, Jasper had a special surprise . We went to the zoo and there I saw on a screen , a panda mother with her baby. It was born in spring and is housed in a quiet room , which you can not visit . Such a pity . But I met Panda dad. He enjoyed his bamboo. We look very similar. It was great. I met a Panda. A bit later we drove to the hotel. It was a long day. That's it for now. Bye, love you Lilo |

Servus, Grüezi and Hello,
after a long sleep and a good breakfast we started in the second Day. The Naschmarkt on the program. The weather did not look promising, but that could not stop us. The Naschmarkt is Vienna's most popular market. Located at the Wienzeile over the Wien River it is about 1,5 kilometers long. The Naschmarkt has existed since the 16th century when mainly milk bottles were sold (As Milk Bottles were made out of Ash (Wood from an Ash-Tree), "Asch"(German for "Ash")led to the name "Aschenmarkt"). From 1793 onwards, all fruits and vegetables brought to Vienna with carts had to be sold here, while goods arriving on the Danube were sold elsewhere. Nowadays, you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables from around the world, exotic herbs, cheese, baked goods such as bread, kaiser rolls, and torte, meats, and seafood. There are also a lot of small restaurants which offer e.g. sushi, kebab, seafood, traditional Viennese food such as Kaiserschmarrn or Palatschinken (compares to rolled up crepes) and stalls which offer clothes and accessories. We strolled through the market and admired the offer. The traders are very friendly. Everywhere you can taste the goods. Once the market run up and down and you are full. Then came the big rain and everyone was looking for a dry place. After dinner (no pictures, it was just too full) we were on our way home. We walked past to the Hotel Sacher, took a look in the Kärntner Strasse (the famous shopping street) and saw the brightly lit Opera House. A day with many impressions came to an end. bye Lilo |

Hello my dear at home
lots of sun and a bright blue sky lured us outside. The Hundertwasser House was our first destination. The Hundertwasser House in Vienna is a building designed by artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser in Vienna's 3rd district. The extraordinary building was constructed between 1983 and 1985. The colorfully decorated exterior façade of Hundertwasser House draws attention to itself almost magically. Anyone who lives in the Hundertwasser House also has the right to decorate the façade around the windows entirely to their own taste. More than 200 trees and shrubs on the balconies and roof terraces make the Hundertwasser House a green oasis in the heart of the city. A tram took us then to the Prater. The Prater is a large public park in Vienna's 2nd district (Leopoldstadt). The Wurstelprater amusement park, often simply called "Prater", stands in one corner of the Wiener Prater and includes the Wiener Riesenrad. The Ferris wheel was built in 1897 and is 65 meters high. In 1916, it should have been demolished. Due to lack of financial resources it survived. We boarded a gondola and enjoyed the view of the gigantic structure, the Prater and the city. (In the gondola before us a marriage was consummated.) We wished best of luck! Afterwards we strolled through the park and wanted to try everything. Unfortunately, we were for most things either too small or too young. Nevertheless we had a lot of fun. Curious, what would bring us the next day we drove back to the hotel. Greetings from your happy Lilo |

Servus and hello,
this day started on the banks of the Danube Canal. Through countless small streets we came initially to Jewish quarter with its beautiful houses , the Lessing monument and the memorial to the Jews who were murdered during World War II in Austria. We went on and came to the Parliament. The next building we saw was the Town Hall on the Ringstrasse. Built between 1872 - 1883 it has 1575 rooms , 2035 windows and 5 towers . The tallest tower measures 103 meters - with Rathausmann . Emperor Franz Josef I decreed that any new tower should not be higher than the tower of the Votive Church , which was 99 meters high. The architect designed a 98 meter high tower and put the Rathausmann on it to make it appear higher. Directly opposite the town hall is the famous Burgtheater. These are the towers of the Votive Church. We walked back past the Burgtheater, to the Volksgarten (People's Garden). Between thousands of rose bushes , we took a short break. Then we went to the Hofburg (Imperial Palace). The various tracts that make up the Imperial Palace , were built between 13 and 19 - 20 Century . In the entire history the Imperial Palace was home to some of the most powerful people in Europe. Currently, the castle serves as the official residence of the Austrian president. In addition, it is home to numerous museums, the Spanish Riding School and a convention center. On Heldenplatz outside the Hofburg. One of the many internal courtyard with a monument. I do not remember to whom. The monument to Empress Maria Theresia. Museum of Art History. The Natural History Museum is directly opposite. This is the St. Michael's Wing of the Hofburg. At St. Michael's Square. Here we stand on the terrace in front of the Albertina and look at the Sacher Hotel (from behind). The Albertina houses one of the largest and most important collections of - 50,000 paintings and 900'000 artistic works ranging from the late Gothic period to the present. Albertina Place Then we reached the Stephansplatz. First we saw the Haas Haus, and then St. Stephen's Cathedral. The cathedral has been restored several times, rebuilt and expanded. The massive south tower is 136 meters high and the construction took 65 years. The construction of the North Tower was stopped because of the Gothic architectural style went out of fashion. The roof is covered with 230,000 colored tiles and really spectacular. Because our hooves, paws and claws ached slowly, host dad decided to go Fiaker. A lady drove us with the carriage through Vienna. We saw many beautiful houses. Take pics was a little difficult. It bounced heavily on the cobbles. This is the Peter Church. Then we took the subway to the modern part of Vienna - Danube City. Near the site of the International Garden Show (1964 ) - today Danube Park with the landmark of the area, the Danube Tower - Uno City was built. Also the tallest building in Austria - the DC Tower (250 meter roof height) - and many banks , insurance companies and the Vienna International Center you can find. The Danube Tower (252 meters with antenna) we had to visit. There is a cafe and restaurant that rotates . From the observation deck we had a magnificent view over Vienna. Kaisermuehlen with the old Danube. And then the new Danube , the Danube and the Danube Canal . Much Danube. At the end of the day we drove to Grinzing wine taverns . The dinner we had earned honestly . After a few glasses of wine we saw everything a little blurry - Jasper also . It was an exhausting but wonderful day See you soon Panda_Lilo |

Hi Mommy,
last day in Vienna, and still so much to look at . After breakfast we made our way to the Belvedere Palace. At the turn of the 17th and 18 century Prince Eugene of Savoy has bought a huge plot of land near the Rennweg and let there first build the lower Belvedere. He used it as a summer - residence. The Upper Belvedere should be much smaller , but he had apparently too much money, and so he let built a castle, which was much greater than that in which he lived . A beautiful French garden and large pools of water are also included. Because it is autumn , most beds are cleared and the pools have no water . The city park is well worth a visit. We admired the opulent Johann - Strauss monument and sat at the city park bridge that crosses the river Wien . We looked at the Charles Church and drank " Sturm" ( freshly fermented grape juice ) Then it was time to say goodbye to Vienna . The train took us to the airport . Boarding in Jasper's bag. The rest was sleep sleep sleep . Good night my dear ones . Lilo |
