Though he can be quite gruff at times, Fairfax really is a gentle bear who loves home comforts and the odd gentle stroll round a few homegrown places of interest.

He is being released in York on March 19th.  If you have found him, please look after him and help him along his way...

Fairfax was a bit perturbed when I suggested that we could release him today.  (He likes to know where he's going and got worried).  So we looked hard for a nice sheltered spot where he could sit and wait for a lovely someone to come along and look after him.

Hopefully, that someone is YOU!

Thank you for picking him up and looking up his profile - please could you update his travelog and help him continue his travels?

And please be gentle with him - he's not used to being out in the wild!  ;)

Whilst walking along the City walls in York, Fairfax shouted out to me that he needed a bit of help to complete his missions.

I picked him up and agreed to help him on his travels. Fairfax will be lodging at my place for a few days to rest, before once again travelling solo. He has asked if I take him to a cafe on Sunday! :D

Fairfax has stayed a little longer than he intended, but has spent the time planning. He's been studying our travel guides and deciding where he would like to go on his adventures.

He's quite a sociable little bear and spends most of his time planning inside our local pub. He's nearly completed one of his missions; it was too dark to take a photo outside the pub, so he asked for his photo to be taken inside the Seahorse pub in York instead.

In a few days Fairfax will be leaving York to continue his journey.

Fairfax wanted to take us out for breakfast before he departed. What better place to go to for a lovely sunday breakfast and read of the paper than Betty's Tea Room in the centre of York.

Fairfax was delighted with the coffee and cakes!

Having read the Lonely Planet to the UK, Fairfax decided that for the next part of his adventure he wanted to travel to the old Roman City of Chester. Luckily we were going to be in the area for May Day Bank Holiday Monday.

We said goodbye to Fairfax and left him where the old Roman Gladiators used to compete. Where could he be? A clue? Oh, OK, it's the large sunken circular arena by the Tourist Information. Yes, you've guessed it, the Amphitheatre! :D

Hi, I found Fairfax safe and well wandering around the old Roman ruins in Chester. He was getting to know the gladiators quite well.

Fairfax took part in the Sport Relief 1 mile run in Manchester. It became a bit too much for his poor little legs to cope with however. He ended up catching a lift with another participant in order to get to the finishing line.

Fairfax has had a busy couple of days this weekend. But spent the day relaxing in front of a brass band today. Just after this photo was taken he rewarded himself with a BIG strawberry ice cream to celebrate achieving another mission. :D

Gudday! I found Fairfax at Manchester airport just before departing for my summer hols in sunny Malta. He hitched a ride in my luggage and caught some rays with me. B)

Fairfax had read about the Hard Rock Cafe chain of restaurants and wanted to dine there to check out what all the fuss is about. I think he liked it!
