Hi Mum,

This afternoon we drove over to Mount Maunganui to have a look at the beach. Last October a container ship called the Rena ran aground on a reef 20km off the coast. Since then oil has spilled into the ocean, also containers and their contents have washed up on the beach. Today though the beach looked beautiful and there was no sign of any problems

I like it here Mum, this beach goes for miles and miles!!
