Hi there!

We took the train to Chicago Union Station and then walked through the city. We just had a few hours for exploration before our meeting.

The first thing we did was a very tourist-y one: We went on top of the Willis Tower, formerly known as Sears Tower . The weather could have been better, but we still had a nice view – especially with the Lake Michigan in the background.

And to the northeast.



Then we went for a walk through the city. In the Millennium Park and especially the Grant Park, people were preparing everything for an upcoming rock festival this weekend. We also found something “typical German” … *no comment*



This is the Clarence F. Buckingham Memorial Fountain in the middle of the Grant Park.



Barack Obama lived in Chicago before he became president. But we were only able to pose with another president – one that couldn’t run away from us …



The skyscrapers and architecture of Chicago were really impressive. I think we’ll come back some time and hope for better weather then!
