Travelog post for: Shakespeare

Hi Mum,

After more snow yesterday, this morning the weather was gorgeous , so we went for a walk close to Banff...and we walked in the sunshine . After a short time we started having lovey views over Lake Minnewanka .




Later we reached a nice viewpoint where we could enjoy more views of the lake...




...and of the mountains surrounding it.




As we started gaining elevation the trail was getting very snowbound, to the point that we worried we were going to have to turn back soon .



But, for once, smaug was prepared , so we put on the snowshoes he carried up here and we were soon back on the move .



Eventually the snow became too soft and deep to keep going even with snowshoes , so we took a final couple of photos of the lake before heading back to the car.
