Hi Mummy,
finally we are having fantastic weather, so we decided to take a walk to one of the forests. Although Remscheid is an industrial city, it is surrounded by lots of forests, valleys and rural areas.
First we picked up a friend who wanted to come with us, so we started our trip close to this small park just in front of the police headquarter.
Katja told us that we would walk to a district called Reinshagen. We had to walk along the streets for some time.
IN the background we saw the outskirts of Wuppertal and Solingen, the neighbour cities.
We left the main street than to walk through a small housing area, already close to the forest.
We rested here for a while, sitting about 1,80 m high with a great overview
Hidden between trees we had a first glimpse to Muengsten Bridge, Germany's highest railway bridge.
Later we found a place with a better view to the bridge. The bridge is overspanning the valley of river Wupper, about 480 m long and 107 m high, a construction made of steel which is restored at the moment.
When we left the forest Katja showed us the railway track which is leading to the bridge.
Unfortunately we cannot cross it by train at the moment due to the repair works which will be going on until November, but we will visit the leisure park under the bridge one day.
Bye
Sean
