Hi Mummy,
in the afternoon we took a walk to the district Hasten, one of the oldest districts of Remscheid. Little mouse Sportie accompanied Katja and me. She will be travelling to China soon. Doesn't that sound great?
You can see many of the typical houses here. In this region, the "Bergisches Land", many houses are timberframed houses or covered with slate. Also typical are green shutters. Due to its natural conditions, Remscheid's districts are not close together, but they extend into the surrounding forrests and valleys. You can see everywhere, that the whole municipal area is surrounded by lots of green and forrests.
This is the new building of a home for the elderly, ...
... and this the original building.
We decided to visit a friend and ask her if she wanted to accompany us for a walk.
Our path is leading along allotment gardens. I really like this overgrowed path.
Here are more pretty old houses, built close together. I think nobody like the idea of a fire here. For fire engines it es almost impossible to reach those houses.
Can you see the factory in the background of the next picture? This is where we started our walk.
On our way home we went to a recently opened garden center.
Here are funny shaped trees ...
... and here are several sorts of stones, which you can use for your garden paths or simply as a decoration.
Could you imagine to put blue glass into your garden ?!
Later we had to buy a few things to prepare a melon sorbet. I don't have the slightest idea what this could be, but we'll see.
Bye
Herbie
