Mel was SURE she already made this update, but when we added the Chicago trip, it wasn't there! So sorry! But here it is now! 
Mel's mom invited us all out for dinner in downtown Grand Haven, so we got to see some of the city! Right near where we parked was the city Museum. In the windows were the winners of a local Photography contest. It was fun seeing the winners!
From the same corner we could see down the main street towards the river. Not many people out today, it was a cold and windy winter day!
At the restaurant, we were right on the river! This is the harbor looking out towards the Lake Michigan. The pier and lighthouses are far away in the background. We didn't stay here long, it was cold!
The next day was St. Valentine's Day but Mel had to work. The day after that though, Mel said, was Cheap Chocolate Day and Discount Flower Day. So she went to the store and took us along.
So many pretty roses, and all only half price! Which should we pick? We chose pretty pink ones with green ruffles, because Mel likes green.
All of the candy was also half price. We were good and only got one bag, though.
I guess Fat Tuesday is coming up soon? Not many people here celebrate it, but the stores sell Paczkis anyway. Have you ever had them?
Then we helped Mel get the real food. It's a shame she doesn't like peppers, since they are so pretty and colorful! We got lettuce and tomatoes instead, what are the same colors but not as bright.
